Responsibilities of the Curriculum Writer include the following:

Job Description : Curriculum Writer

Curriculum Content
  • Write and evaluate content which supports state standards
  • Update scope and sequence as needed so it supports the content management system
  • Manage content writing of external resources
  • Ensure that curriculum content reflects research-based best practices
  • Ensure grade-level appropriateness across all materials
  • Work closely with Senior Producers and Producers to implement content into proprietary database


  • Strong content knowledge in elementary education, math and reading
  • Classroom teaching experience highly desirable - three to five years of teaching experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access a plus
  • Experience working with and/or developing digital materials
  • Content writer must have sensitivity to ethnic, gender-related, geographical, and socio-economic concerns
